Casino in Elk Grove reopens after electrical work for upcoming expansion
Sky River Casino in Elk Grove has reopened early following an overnight shutdown, officials said.
The casino was scheduled to be closed from 11 p.m. Monday to noon Tuesday, the site said. But it reopened by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, casino officials said.
The closure is for a “temporary planned electrical upgrade to prepare for our resort expansion,” the site said.
The casino announced plans in 2024 for a 300-room hotel, expanded gaming space, a day spa with an outdoor pool facility, and a new restaurant and bar to open by 2027, The Sacramento Bee previously reported.
A 1,600-space parking garage is scheduled to open in 2026 with an additional 312 slot machines in the casino, increasing the property total to 2,500, casino officials said.
The casino, which opened in 2022, spans 100,000 square feet with more than 2,100 slot machines and more than 80 table games. It has 18 restaurants and bars.
Owned by the Wilton Rancheria in partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation, the casino is located at 1 Sky River Parkway in Elk Grove, about a 15 miles southeast from downtown Sacramento.
