Child, 3, dies in accident involving construction equipment at Nevada City home
A 3-year-old child died Sunday after being struck by construction equipment at a Nevada City home, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
The fatal incident was reported about 3:50 p.m. in the 11000 block of Winter Moon Way and involved a skid steer, a compact piece of heavy construction equipment used to dig, lift and move materials, sheriff’s officials said.
Nevada County Consolidated Fire District crews responded to the scene, but the child was later pronounced dead.
No additional details were released Monday. The incident remains under investigation.
