Pedestrian hit, killed by pickup on rural road in Yolo County, CHP says

Pedestrian fatality

A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday night by a pickup truck in Yolo County, according to California Highway Patrol officials.

Officers from the CHP’s Woodland office responded to the crash at about 8:43 p.m., on County Road 99 West near County Road 12, halfway between the towns of Dunnigan and Yolo. The pedestrian had died at the scene, officials said.

The Yolo County Coroner’s Office had not yet released the collision victim’s name. Family on Wednesday identified him as Nai Poo Saechao Jr., 29.

The driver of the Dodge pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash, CHP officials said.
