Super Bowl train service from Sacramento took thousands to big game

A special train service from Sacramento to Santa Clara for Super Bowl LX attracted more than 5,000 riders, Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor reported.

The trains ran on Feb. 8 for the NFL championship between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium. The Seahawks won 29-13.

Capitol Corridor reported in a news release Tuesday that total ridership Feb. 8 exceeded average Sunday ridership by more than 50%.

It was the third-highest single-day ridership for Capitol Corridor since the pandemic.

“Thank you for riding Capitol Corridor to Levi’s Stadium and we hope to see you onboard again soon!” the agency said.
