Gambler wins ‘incredible’ jackpot on $5-slot machine at Sacramento casino

A gambler at Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Sacramento hit a $679,496 jackpot on a $25 slot machine bet Tuesday, casino officials reported.

The player won the jackpot on a $5 “Dragon Link: Genghis Khan” slot machine, the casino said in a news release.

“That’s not just a win, it’s a statement,” said Dawn Clayton, general manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. “There is no better way to close out the month than with a win like this.”

The win marks the 10th six-figure jackpot at the casino in 2026.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort at 1200 Athens Ave. in Lincoln has 3,500 slot machines and 89 table games. It is about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.
