The Davis Joint Unified School District, which early this year announced it would explore later start times for junior high and high school students, is starting a community discussion online about the importance of teen sleep.
The district is launching a nine-week campaign on Facebook to increase awareness, share research and identify teen challenges to proper sleep and consequences of insufficient sleep, according to a district news release.
To read the research and provide feedback, search Facebook using the hashtag, #djusdLaterStart.
The district’s Later Start Committee is expected to present its recommendation to the Davis Board of Education in December.
