Airsoft gun found at Rocklin High during police investigation
The Rocklin Police Department is investigating a student over the possibility of the student bringing a weapon to campus, according to police and school officials.
Before school started Thursday, a Rocklin High School parent contacted the Rocklin Police Department about a student who may have brought a weapon on campus.
The police said they responded to the call and collaborated with the Rocklin High School administration team to conduct a thorough search for the weapon, which was eventually found and determined to be an airsoft gun, according to the Rocklin Police Department.
Families were notified about the incident prior to the school’s start time, according to Rocklin school officials.
“Because someone spoke up, we were able to respond quickly, investigate and ensure everyone’s safety,” Rocklin Chief of Police Rustin Bank said. “We continue to remind our community, if you see something, say something.”
