Caltrans warns busy I-80 on-ramp will close in June for weekend construction work
The Richards Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 80 will be closed for a weekend later this month, Caltrans announced Thursday.
The closure is part of the Yolo 80 Managed Lanes Project, a $280 million project to widen and improve Interstate 80 between Davis and Sacramento.
According to a statement from Caltrans District 3, the closure will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, June 26 and continue until 4 a.m. Monday, June 29, according to Caltrans.
The closure will affect both northbound and southbound traffic on Richards Boulevard accessing eastbound I-80.
During the closure, motorists will be detoured from Richards Boulevard to westbound I-80, then routed to Old Davis Road to return to eastbound I-80, Caltrans said.
In the announcement, Caltrans District 3 reminded drivers that the speed limit in the construction zone is reduced to 55 mph.
