Beat the heat: Sacramento city pools offer discounted entry fees this weekend
As temperatures climb into the triple digits, Sacramento residents can cool off at city-operated pools, which will celebrate the start of summer this weekend with discounted admission.
Residents can take a dip for $2 at 12 neighborhood pools this weekend. After the promotion ends, regular admission will be $3 for youth and $5 for adults. Entry to the North Natomas Aquatics Complex — which is not included in the discounted summer kickoff rate — will remain $7 for youth and $9 for adults.
Four city wading pools will also continue to be free for children younger than 7.
“Providing safe, affordable and accessible aquatic opportunities for Sacramento families remains a top priority,” Sjon Swanson, recreation manager for the Department of Youth, Parks, and Community Enrichment, known as YCPE, said in a statement. “Our pools offer residents a place to stay active, cool off during the summer months and connect with their community.”
All city pools will be open over the weekend for the summer season and will maintain regular weekday hours. At least one pool will also host a Family Night Rec Swim every weekday to offer pool access outside traditional work hours. Residents are encouraged to check pool schedules before heading out.
YCPE will also continue to offer aquatics programming, including swim lessons, recreational swimming, lap swimming, swim teams and water fitness classes. Youth Program Scholarship Funds are available to support qualifying families who want to participate in classes at no cost.
