Concerts, carnival rides and frozen lemonade: Your guide to the Placer County Fair

Placer County Fair

Planning to visit the 2026 Placer County Fair? You’ll find pig races and dinosaurs, along with the more traditional concerts, carnival rides and livestock shows.

The 88th annual fair runs from June 25 to June 28 at the fairgrounds at 700 Event Center Drive in Roseville. It opens at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and noon Saturday and Sunday, and runs through 11 p.m.

This year’s fair theme is “Past Present Future,” celebrating the 175th anniversary of Placer County.

The longest-running annual event in Placer County, the fair began during the Great Depression before World War II, officials said.

“The fair is a celebration of our community and a kick-off to summer,” Kim Summers, CEO of Placer Valley Tourism and the fairgrounds, said in a news release. “There is something for everyone at the fair.”

Here’s what you need to know:

How much do tickets cost?

Admission to the fair is $9.82 for adults, which includes the online processing fee, if purchased before June 25. Admission is less for children 6 to 13 years old, seniors and military members. Children 5 and under are free.

Admission and tickets for rides and games increase slightly on the opening day of the fair.

How much does parking cost?

Daily parking is $11.94 if purchased online before June 25. Parking is $15 per day afterwards.

Who’s performing in concert at the fair?

The Attaway Pavilion will host 12 free concerts, including the Bruno Mars tribute band Uptown Funk on Thursday evening and Wonderbread 5 on Friday night. Radio Ready, a top 40 music dance band, takes the stage on Saturday night and Outlaw Mariachi closes the concert lineup on Sunday night. All four concerts will feature opening acts.

Other live entertainment will include Los Moralitos Circus at the Speedway, Violin on Fire-Patrick Contreras in the atrium of the Roebbelen Center and Brad’s Reptiles. Dinosaurs and dragons will roam the fairgrounds.

What else can I see and do at the fair?

The carnival, operated by Butler Amusements, will feature 20 rides, games of luck and skill and food vendors. There will be 11 new rides this year, including the Crazy Dog Family Coaster.

The fair also will feature All-Alaskan Racing Pigs and the Family Fun Zone, featuring games and interactive displays, along with 100 commercial vendors.

A wine garden and exhibits featuring artwork such as paintings and photos and baked goods like cookies and pies also will be part of the fair.

A scholarship pageant and the sixth annual Placer County Fair Rib Cook-Off also are scheduled.

And the livestock barns and show rings will feature baby lambs and goats, along with steers, chickens and turkeys. A junior livestock auction will be held Saturday morning.

“Placer County’s history is rooted in the hard work of our farmers, who built a strong agricultural foundation after the Gold Rush,” said Placer County Supervisor Shanti Landon in a news release. “The fair and our 175-year story honor that legacy and the community that carries it forward today.”
