16-year-old male found shot, according to Sacramento police. Pronounced dead

A 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in Sacramento’s Northgate neighborhood early Sunday, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers responded shortly before 12:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Wisconsin Avenue, police spokesperson Officer Allison Smith said.

When officers arrived, they found the teen suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said.

The shooting remains under investigation by homicide detectives and crime scene investigators.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Sacramento Police Department.
