Authorities investigate fatal drowning of a man in North Tahoe

Police tape blocks entrance to a convenience store in San Luis Obispo County.

A man was found unresponsive Saturday along the north shore of Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said it received a report of a possible drowning at about 2:30 p.m.

Deputies and personnel from the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District responded and found an unresponsive man who bystanders had pulled from the water.

Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as an accidental drowning.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
