Sacramento’s ABC10 adds new investigative journalist to its team
Sacramento TV news’s investigative journalist lineup recently added a new member.
ABC10 (KXTV) brought on Adrian Thomas as its newest local investigative reporter in June, according to a Facebook post by Thomas.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity being given to me by such an accomplished, respected news organization, and to be back in a state that’s home to most of my family and many friends,” Thomas wrote in his post.
Prior to starting his current role, Thomas worked at KPTV-TV, a Fox affiliate in Portland, Oregon, for four years, according to his LinkedIn profile. In Oregon, Thomas helped develop the outlet’s investigative team and covered topics ranging from homelessness to immigration challenges, according to an ABC10 article announcing Thomas’s joining.
Thomas told ABC10 that he was most proud of an accountability series uncovering concerns with the safety of youth in Oregon’s foster care system, and that he “is passionate about telling in-depth, impactful stories that help people better understand what’s happening in their communities while giving a voice to those who need it most,” according to the station’s article.
A 2019 journalism graduate of Boston University, Thomas previously spent some time in Central California, working as a reporter at KSEE-TV and CBS47 in Fresno before briefly working as a press secretary for U.S. Rep. Jim Costa, D-Fresno.
