Repaving planned for Yolo County road next week. What to expect
County Road 28H will be repaved next week between County Roads 102 and 103, near the Yolo County Central Landfill, according to a county news release.
The work is part of the county’s 2026 pavement preservation project, a $5.5 million effort to repair about 26 miles of county roads.
Repaving crews will work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 13-17 to replace the top 4 inches of asphalt and restripe. The road will remain open, but travelers should expect delays, including intermittent lane closures in both directions, according to a county news release.
The Yolo County Central Landfill will remain open, but the construction may cause delays for those approaching from the west using County Road 102. The landfill can be reached without passing through the work site from the east by using County Roads 32A, 105 and 28H.
Yolo County’s 2026 pavement preservation project is funded by state highway funds and gas tax dollars from Senate Bill 1. The project, which began last month, will run through late September. It will focus on roads near Dunnigan, north of Woodland, including portions of County Road 102 as well as 28H.
The work will be carried out by West Sacramento-based VSS International.
