Death of woman found in Folsom fountain likely accident; police rule out foul play

Police tape blocks entrance to a convenience store in San Luis Obispo County.

Folsom police said the death of a woman found dead in a fountain early Monday was likely accidental and not the result of foul play.

Officers and detectives investigated the discovery near a business on East Bidwell Street, about 6 a.m. in the 2700 block of East Bidwell Street near Broadstone Parkway, the Folsom Police Department said in a statement posted to social media.

Folsom police did not disclose the woman’s name, saying Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s identity once next of kin are notified.

Folsom police released no other information on the death Monday.
