Meet The Sacramento Bee’s accountability reporters – in your own community!
The Sacramento Bee recently created a local accountability team to cover local news in the cities and counties surrounding Sacramento, including: Roseville and Placer County, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Davis and Yolo County and Folsom and El Dorado County.
In covering these communities we have told stories of restaurant openings, business developments, education and crime. Our reporters have been dogged in covering their beats, but now it’s time for you to get to know the people behind the bylines.
The local accountability team, alongside the local engagement and retention team, are holding a series of events this summer to connect more with our communities in the greater Sacramento area. At these events you’ll be able to talk to your individual watchdog reporter and hear about their experience coving your community, and you’ll be able to participate in a Q&A with them as well.
Here are some of upcoming events we have slated for our readers:
- Elk Grove: Join watchdog reporter Camryn Dadey on Wednesday, July 22, 5 to 6 p.m. at Em Coffee House, 7440 Laguna Blvd Ste 111, Elk Grove. RSVP to Camryn’s town hall here.
- Folsom and El Dorado Hills: Join watchdog reporter Corey Schmidt on Thursday, July 23, 6 to 7 p.m., at Moonraker Millhouse Brewing Co., 3501 Robin Lane, Cameron Park. RSVP to Corey’s town hall here.
