Video of gunman shooting driver in passing vehicle in Sacramento released
Sacramento police released surveillance video Friday of a 20-year-old man who was shot as he drove his vehicle in an attempt to identify the gunman.
Anthony Barajas was driving a pickup truck on the 1400 block of Meadowview Road around 11:21 a.m. on June 28 when he was shot dead by someone in a passing vehicle.
The yet unidentified gunman was driving a 1997-2005 Buick Century sedan.
The truck and the sedan can be seen on the right side of the screen of the surveillance video obtained by police. The video pauses to capture the moment the sedan reaches the truck.
The victim’s truck is in a westbound lane, closest to the screen, while the suspect’s sedan is in the lane next to the truck. The suspect’s vehicle is about a car’s length away from the victim’s when the video stops.
Police ask that anyone with information on the incident to call 916-264-5471 or text 274637. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to a reward of up to $1,000.
