Applause: Kudos to Ian Harris, Tiffany Shepard and Jenelle L. Ball

Kudos to: Ian Harris, Arden Arcade Eagle Scout

Accomplishment: Completed Eagle Scout project

Details: His Eagle Scout project consisted of pouring a 14-foot-by-14-foot concrete pad that will serve as the base of an outdoor welcome center at First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks, where his Troop 107 meets. Livingston’s Concrete donated materials, and more than 20 others helped Harris during the three-day project.

Kudos to: Tiffany Shepherd, Grant Union High School English teacher

Accomplishment: Named one of five Carlston Family Foundation Outstanding Teachers of America

Details: Honorees are nominated by former students. They describe what makes their former teachers more effective than other instructors, their motivational teaching techniques and how the teacher changed his or her life.

Kudos to: Jenelle L. Ball, Chico High School chemistry teacher

Accomplishment: Named outstanding chemistry teacher in the country

Details: Ball was named the 2015 top high school chemistry teacher by the American Chemical Society and received the James Bryant Conant Award.
