Sacramento County shelter offers reduced animal adoption fees
Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter will hold an emergency adoption event this weekend in an attempt to reduce the number of animals in its care.
The shelter currently has more than 500 animals, exceeding its capacity, officials said.
In an effort to find homes for the animals, the shelter will offer reduced adoption fees Friday through Sunday. Cats, kittens and rabbits will be available for $15, or $20 for two. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies will be $30 for one, or $50 for two.
The shelter, at 3839 Bradshaw Road, will be open from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, and noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Adoptions will end a half hour before closing.
