-- The Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team will host an open house Wednesday to explain and answer questions about how prescribed fires are planned and implemented in the Lake Tahoe basin.
The open house will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Supervisor’s office, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe.
It will include stations for the public to learn more about fire weather forecasting, smoke dispersal, fire behavior modeling and how moisture in vegetation is tested before burning.
Attendees can also see before-and-after photos of prescribed fires, view maps of upcoming project locations and sign up for prescribed-fire notifications.
