Several boaters were taken to the hospital after a collision on the Sacramento River.
The crash of two pleasure boats at 3 p.m. Sunday spilled five of nine boaters into river along the shoreline south of the Clarksburg Marina. None of the boaters were wearing life jackets at the time of the crash, according to a press release from the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash that caused major damage to both vessels. The boaters who were tossed into the water were helped back on board by nearby anglers.
The sheriff’s office said the two boats were headed in the opposite direction of each other when they collided. None of the injuries suffered by the boaters appeared to be life-threatening.
