Skies should be clear and temperatures warm on Tuesday, but high clouds associated with a low pressure system are just to the west of California and portend showers ahead.

Temperatures were a little cooler Tuesday morning in Sacramento, although the sun will warm the city to about 67 degrees Tuesday afternoon.

High clouds should increase Tuesday night ahead of a weak weather system, according to the National Weather Service. Showers should occur Wednesday over Sacramento, the first of three systems expected to deliver modest rainfall.

Another system is forecast to move through on Thursday, which may be a little more potent than the first, according to the NWS. The third system is predicted Friday night.

While the midsection of the country has been clobbered by freezing temperatures and early snow, Northern California has enjoyed some mild weather. Here, courtesy of the weather service is the tale of two cities, Marysville, Yuba County, and Marysville, Ohio:

Tuesday: a projected high of 65 in Yuba County, 17 in Ohio.

Wednesday: a high of 58 in Yuba County, 32 in Ohio.

Thursday: 59 in Yuba County, 26 in Ohio.
