Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today, Thursday, Oct. 22:

Rainless skies through weekend

Is it too early to speak about the weekend weather? The folks at the National Weather Service are looking ahead to Saturday and Sunday. They predict that the weekend will be much like Thursday: afternoon temperatures in the low 80s with mostly sunny skies. No rain in the forecast until Wednesday.

Teen forum in Elk Grove

Students can comment on city priorities while earning community service credit during the sixth annual Teen Town Hall Forum hosted by the Elk Grove Youth Commission. The event is scheduled at 6 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way, Elk Grove. The forum allows Elk Grove teens to express their concerns and opinions about community issues and helps the Youth Commission determine priorities and plan future programs and projects for the remainder of the school year.

Peace Corps volunteers to speak

A panel of returned Peace Corps volunteers will share their experiences, guide possible volunteers about the application process and answer questions from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Arcade Library, 2443 Marconi Ave., Sacramento. The event is free.

Luncheon to help foster youths

The United Way’s 14th annual Women in Philanthropy Luncheon to aid area foster youths is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Arden Hills Country Club, 1220 Arden Hills Lane, Sacramento. The event features a fashion show, lunch and presentations by current and former area foster youths who have participated in United Way’s financial stability programs. Volunteer fair in West Sacramento
