Accomplishment: Created hundreds of cards thanking veterans
Details: Students from the Carmichael school made the Veterans Day cards in appreciation of men and women who served in the military. The cards were created for delivery to veterans at Sacramento VA Medical Center in Mather.
Kudos to: Jenny Williamson, founder of Courage Worldwide
Accomplishment: Selected as a Women of Worth honoree by L’Oreal Paris
Details: The Granite Bay resident started her organization to rescue and provide a refuge for victims of human trafficking. Courage Worldwide operates two homes for rescued children, one in Northern California and the other in the African nation of Tanzania.
Kudos to: Phi Kappa Phi, Sacramento State Chapter
Accomplishment: Cited for excellence by parent body
Details: PKP is Sacramento State’s oldest honor society. The award is given to chapters that excel in recognizing and promoting academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engaging scholars in service.
