Today in Sacramento: Here’s what you need to know for Monday

Attention, Interstate 80 drivers

Interstate 80 will be subject to lane reductions in both directions from Sierra College Boulevard in Rocklin to Newcastle Road in Newcastle from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. through Friday due to construction.

On the Capital City Freeway, the southbound connector to eastbound and westbound Highway 50 will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m. through Saturday due to construction. There will be a detour available.

And two weeks of night work on westbound Interstate 80 are scheduled from 10:30 p.m. Monday through 4 a.m. the following mornings through Nov. 6 as Caltrans and the Solano Transportation Authority will remove the wooden false work on the new Green Valley Road/Interstate 80 overcrossing above the interstate in Fairfield. There will be a detour available.

Mild weather for Sacramento

Cool mornings and mild afternoons are predicted for Sacramento for Monday and Tuesday -- before possible showers on Wednesday. The National Weather Service predicts a high of 80 degrees today and 74 on Tuesday. Any rain later in the week is expected to be light.

Cellist Anssi Karttunen

Finnish cellist Anssi Karttunen will perform at the Mondavi Center’s Vanderhoef Studio Theatre at UC Davis. Karttunen has worked as a soloist and chamber-music player and is the artistic director of the Musica Nova Helsinki Festival. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at the theater at 9399 Old Davis Road.
