More wet stuff: Showers are likely to continue today in Sacramento, where the high is expected to reach 59 degrees. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch is possible, according to the National Weather Service. A handful of ski resorts now have at least a few runs open, including Boreal Mountain, on I-80 near Donner Summit.
All aboard, but when?: Dixon built itself a downtown train station eight years ago. The problem: Trains still don’t stop there, and it could take several years and thousands of dollars before they do.
Shoppers think small: Small Business Saturday, started five years ago, has taken its place between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It sends a message to shoppers to frequent small, local businesses for their holiday needs, such as Andy’s Candy Apothecary in downtown Sacramento.
Grand jury applicants sought: The Sacramento County grand jury is seeking new applicants to serve a yearlong term that participants say is short on financial rewards but an important method of guaranteeing oversight on public bodies.
Upcoming foes: The Bee’s Jason Jones looks ahead to the Sacramento Kings’ opponents this week.
