Sacramento County names new clerk/recorder
The Board of Supervisors today approved a replacement for longtime Sacramento County Clerk/Recorder Craig Kramer, who retired earlier this year after more than three decades of county service.
Supervisors approved Donna Allred, chief deputy in the Clerk/Recorder office, as Kramer’s replacement at the recommendation of County Executive Brad Hudson. The office performs a number of duties, including issuing marriage licenses and performing civil marriage ceremonies.
Allred has worked in management for the Clerk/Recorder office for 16 years. She provides training to other counties on the state marriage process.
“Donna has been instrumental in the success of our county Clerk/Recorder operations, and we are pleased to promote her to the head of the department,” Hudson said in a statement.
Kramer retired after serving as clerk/recorder for a decade and working for Sacramento County for 32 years.
