The Sacramento Municipal Utility District said power was restored to about 900 Sacramento customers who lost power for about an hour Wednesday.
Power went out at 11:28 a.m. SMUD’s online power-outage map showed the affected area between 16th and 19th streets, north of J Street, in midtown. Homes and businesses spanning an area beyond the 19th, G and H boundary were affected.
SMUD spokesman Christopher Capra said the outage was caused by a tree branch falling on a primary, 21,000-volt line on the west side of 19th Street, between G and H streets.
Capra said power to most of the affected customers was restored by 12:10 p.m. as utility crews rerouted power in the downtown area.
