Kudos to: Rancho Murieta Country Club golfers
Accomplishment: Raised $68,577 for American Red Cross Capital Region
Details: Money was raised during the Red Cross Golf Classic. The tournament at Rancho Murieta included more than 150 golfers. Proceeds will support disaster relief in the Sacramento area.
Kudos to: Four teens from Hiram Johnson High School Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps
Accomplishment: Selected for color guard duty at the game between Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers
Details: The high-achieving students were picked to carry the flags at the game held Dec. 7, the anniversary of the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor survivors also were to be in attendance.
Kudos to: National Diaper Bank Network
Accomplishment: Donated $1,000 to Nevada County Diaper Project
Details: Founded in 2009, the Nevada County Diaper Project has helped provide more than 5,000 diapers a month to families. The national network includes 230 diaper banks and closets. The Huggies brand supports the network through its “Every Little Bottom” campaign by donating 20 million diapers a year.
