Storm fears postpone planned coffee with Sacramento superintendent

A Thursday night coffee and dessert session for parents and community members to meet the superintendent of the Sacramento City Unified School District is being rescheduled due to expected severe weather conditions.

A committee meeting had been set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Luther Burbank High School for a meet-and-greet with new Superintendent Jose Banda. District officials said Tuesday that the meeting will be rescheduled after the winter break.

Banda served two years as superintendent of Seattle Public Schools before becoming superintendent of the Sacramento district on Aug. 1.
