Bundle up this weekend
It will continue to be chilly in the Sacramento area Saturday, with a high near 52 degrees forecast, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight lows into Sunday are expected to drop to 30 degrees, a freeze watch until 9 a.m., the weather service reports.
Dickens Street Faire, parade in Elk Grove
The 28th annual Dickens Street Faire takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Parade of Lights in Old Town Elk Grove. More than 60 vendors will sell arts, crafts, food and other holiday treats. Go to www.dickensstreetfaire.com for parade route and more information.
Small Business Saturday
Retailers in downtown and midtown Sacramento, as well as Old Sacramento, are celebrating Small Business Saturday. To encourage shoppers, Sacramento is kicking off its weekend free parking zone in metered spots between I and L streets from Front Street to 29th Street. The zone extends south to Capitol Avenue from 17th to 21st streets.
Crocker arts and crafts market
The Crocker Holiday Artisan Market continues at the Scottish Rite Center, 6151 H St., Sacramento. The annual market offers arts and crafts for purchase, as well as pictures with a Victorian Santa, holiday music and food from Ambrosia Cafe. Admission is $3 for Crocker and Creative Arts League of Sacramento members, $6 for adults and free for children. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Model trains at railroad museum
The California State Railroad Museum hosts the final day of “Small Train Holiday,” featuring a multitude of model trains and hundreds of feet of track. Visitors can also participate in a scavenger hunt in the museum. All “Small Train Holiday” activities are included with paid museum admission of $10 for adults and $5 for youths ages 6 to 17. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- The Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera present the “Music of Queen” to kick off their first show in the 2015-16 Pop Series. The performance begins at 8 p.m. at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, 1301 L St. Go to http://sacphilopera.org for more information.
- Sacramento Taiko Dan performs an Aki Matsuri Taiko Concert at 3 p.m. at the Brunelle Performing Arts Center at Davis High School, 315 W. 14th St., Davis.
