Cloudy skies, light rain forecast for Sacramento

The National Weather Service is forecasting cloudy skies and a chance of light rain for Sacramento on Saturday.

“A particularly moist air mass is over the region,” said weather service forecaster Tom Dang. “It’s not very difficult to get some light showers when the air is so moist.”

The moist air, however, will soon give way to a high pressure ridge Saturday night, which Dang said would keep the region dry for several days.

“Realistically, it should be warmer and dryer through Tuesday.”

Here’s the seven-day forecast:

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. South southeast wind around 8 mph.
