Cold and clear through New Year’s
Clear, crisp weather conditions and light winds are expected today. Temperatures will range from a high of 53 to a low of 32 degrees. Temperatures through New Year’s Day are expected to be in the low to mid-50s during the day in Sacramento. After nightfall, temperatures will plummet with lows around freezing.
Winter fun downtown
The wintry weather is ideal for skating at the Downtown Sacramento Holiday Ice Rink at Seventh and K streets. The rink is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Go to http://godowntownsac.com for more information.
Global Winter Wonderland
The light-filled holiday celebration known as Global Winter Wonderland continues at Cal Expo from 3 to 10 p.m. The park features rides, an ice-skating rink and the Worlds of Light exhibition with giant illuminated animals and buildings. Go to www.globalwonderland.org for more information.
Things to do
- Coloring isn’t only for children these days. Try adult coloring at the Arden-Dimick branch of the Sacramento Public Library, 891 Watt Ave., from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Coloring sheets and colored pencils will be supplied.
- A free meditation class will be held at Sunlight of the Spirit Books & Gifts, 2314 J St., from 6 to 7 p.m.
