Accomplishment: Highway memorial signs to be unveiled for Tonn
Details: Tonn, 35, was fatally shot in January 2013 after responding to a reported burglary in Galt. The Galt City Manager’s Office said the signs will be unveiled Jan. 15.
Kudos to: Natomas Unified School District employees, students and parents
Accomplishment: Helped hundreds of people during the holiday season
Details: Numerous schools collected food, toys and clothing for those who needed a helping hand, including foster youths and the homeless.
Kudos to: Dr. Nathan Kupermann, chairman of the UC Davis Department of Emergency Medicine
Accomplishment: Honored by the American College of Emergency Physicians
Details: Received an annual award given to emergency physicians. Kuppermann has developed and overseen a wide range of studies in pediatric emergency medicine.
