Folsom, Davis examine marijuana rules

The Folsom City Council will consider calling a halt to all cultivation and distribution of marijuana inside city limits, including inside dwellings where cultivation is now allowed. A city staff report says the change would not interfere with patients’ right to medical marijuana. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, 50 Natoma St. In Davis, staff will brief the City Council on whether an ordinance prohibiting marijuana cultivation will be needed. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, 445 C St.

No rain until tonight

No need for an umbrella Tuesday because the upcoming rainstorm is not expected to arrive in the Sacramento region until late tonight. The first of three rain events forecast for this week should continue into Wednesday morning.

Yolo County will discuss next registrar

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors is seeking public help in defining skills and qualities desirable for any candidate seeking appointment as registrar of voters and county clerk-recorder. Freddie Oakley, elected to the post in fall 2014, retired at the end of 2015. Yolo County residents who want to weigh in can attend the board meeting, Room 206 in the Erwin Meier Administration Building, 625 Court St., Woodland, at 9 a.m. Tuesday or complete an online survey at www.yolocounty.org.

Gold-panning event before El Dorado board

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors is expected to decide Tuesday whether to provide up to $40,000 to the U.S. Gold Panning Association of Pollock Pines to help stage the World Championship Gold Panning Event on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in September. The recommendation to do so comes from the economic development division of the county’s chief administrative office. The consent item is part of the 8 a.m. meeting at 330 Fair Lane, Building A, Placerville.
