Traffic control on portion of Highway 193

The state Department of Transportation advises that a section of Highway 193 in El Dorado County will be under one-way traffic control for the next several weeks during emergency repair work. A culvert under the highway near Rock Creek Road failed on Jan. 30 and the southbound lane of the highway was damaged. The location is about 4 miles north of Placerville, 2 miles south of Kelsey, in the American River canyon. Motorists should expect delays of up to five minutes at the signals to get through a construction zone.
