American Heritage Day in Fair Oaks

Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks invites the public to the 13th annual American Heritage Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8201 Greenback Lane. Alert for Highway 49 drivers

Motorists can expect one-way traffic for utility work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on Highway 49 from Coloma School House to Mt. Murphy Road in El Dorado County, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Have a Heart weekend

The Powerhouse Science Center Discovery Campus is marking Valentine’s Day with an exhibit about the science of the heart featuring hands-on displays. Visitors ages 12 and under will receive a plaster heart cast to paint and take home.
