Rancho Cordova hosts the 17th annual Community Volunteer Awards beginning at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 2729 Prospect Drive. Celebrities compete at chili cook-off
More than 20 area community leaders will compete in a fundraising celebrity chili cook-off to help fund anti-bullying programs in South Placer County schools. The event, featuring Roseville Mayor Carol Garcia, Roseville City Council members Bonnie Gore and Pauline Roccucci, William Jessup University President John Jackson, Roseville police Chief Daniel Hahn and more, is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Maidu Community Center, 1550 Maidu Drive, Roseville.
