Dry weather through weekend after Friday morning’s possible showers in Sacramento

The upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. three-day weekend looks dry in Sacramento, although not exactly sunny.

A couple of weak weather systems are expected to brush Northern California Friday and Sunday, bringing clouds and a threat of some sprinkles this morning to Sacramento.

A 20 percent chance of rain is forecast in Sacramento before 10 a.m. Friday.

The two small systems may bring an inch or more of rainfall north of Shasta Lake.

The National Weather Service forecast goes like this: partly sunny Saturday, mostly cloudy Sunday and partly sunny on the anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement leader’s birth.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of rain before 10am. Areas of fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Light south wind.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. Light north northwest wind.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 61. Light west northwest wind.

Saturday night: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Light and variable wind.

Sunday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Light south wind.

Sunday night: Areas of fog after 10pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
