Kudos to: Dignity Health

Accomplishment: Awarded nearly $800,000 to nonprofits in Sacramento, Yolo and Nevada counties

Details: Dignity, which operates Mercy, Methodist, Woodland and Sierra Nevada hospitals, provided money to nonprofit organizations such as Turning Point Community Programs, Sacramento Loaves & Fishes, and Suicide Prevention and Crisis Services of Yolo County. Those to be helped include the mentally ill, homeless and people with dementia.

Kudos to: Rocklin Golf Club

Accomplishment: Received WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award

Details: Rocklin Golf Club, formerly Sunset Whitney, received the award honoring top wedding ceremonies and reception venues. Winners are determined based on reviews by newlyweds.

Kudos to: Nancy Ennis, author and owner of Sacramento’s Tot Town Child Development Center

Accomplishment: Mom’s Choice Awards Gold recipient for her book “When Mommy and Daddy Say NO, They Still Love You.”

Details: The book, illustrated by Cynthia Meadows, presents the message that it is necessary for a child’s development for parents to say no at times.
