Support group for Alzheimer’s caregivers
The city of Sacramento, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, hosts a free support group meeting for caregivers of those living with dementia from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Cypress Room at Hart Senior Center, 915 27th St. Support group meetings provide education and emotional support for caregivers. To attend, contact calbers@cityofsacramento.org or call 916-808-6475. The support groups are scheduled the second Friday of each month.
Temperatures dropping
The Delta breeze was cooling Friday morning. The National Weather Service is forecasting a day of more mild temperatures. After a high of 93 degrees on Thursday in Sacramento, look for maximum temperatures to drop 10 degrees today.
Free concert at Cesar Chavez Plaza
Downtown Sacramento’s free Concert in the Park series continues from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Plaza, 910 I St. Friday’s scheduled performers are New Kingston, Element Brass Band, They Went Ghost, Andrew Castro and DJ Eddie Z. Go to godowntownsac.com✔ for more information.

- For the 21 and older set, the Young Literati Bookswap is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Roseville Brewing Company, 501 Derek Place, Roseville. Participants are asked to bring a book to trade and leave with something new. Call 916-774-5221 for more information.
- The annual Kiwanis Community Festival, co-sponsored by the city of Rocklin, continues through Sunday at Johnson-Springview Park, 5480 Fifth St., Rocklin. The event features a carnival, food, a beer and wine garden, and community nonprofit booths. Event times are 3 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
