Feasts in the Streets fundraiser

Feast in the Streets, a festival to benefit Francis House Center and Next Move, takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Merchant, 15th and C streets, Sacramento. The 25th annual celebration features food tasting from area restaurants and an assortment of wine, beer and soft drinks available for tasting and purchase. There will also be live music and entertainment. According to event organizers, money raised at Feast in the Streets pays for temporary and permanent shelter, job development, safety net services such as ID cards, DMV licenses, transportation and meals, along with resource coaching for those needing work and housing. Veterans stand down continues

The Placer Veterans Stand Down continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Placer County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 800 All America City Blvd., Roseville. This event is geared toward veterans and their families. The event provides dental, medical, vision, hearing and legal services to veterans. Three meals a day, overnight accommodations, showers and clothing are provided. Employment counseling and housing referrals are available, as are VA Benefit assistance and Health and Human Services Assistance.
