Divers recover car of Sacramento man found drowned in slough
Divers located the vehicle of a Sacramento man in the Georgiana Slough Sunday night hours after recovering the body of his 1-year-old daughter from the water, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
The silver-colored car was found at the confluence of the Sacramento River with the slough, according to an email from the sheriff’s department.
Father Kyler Jackson, 23, was found dead in the slough Saturday afternoon in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region, said Sacramento County sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Turnbull. The baby, 1-year-old Kaylee Jackson, was recovered the next day a third of a mile north from where the man’s body was located, Turnbull said.
“There doesn’t appear to be any kind of foul play that’s involved,” he said.
Both were reported missing Monday, May 23, to Antioch police. They were last seen the night before in Antioch, according to Sacramento police.
The Coroner’s Office has yet to determine an official cause of death for either person, Turnbull said.
