Drought tolerant landscaping ideas on display at Cal Expo
Thousands of people turned out Saturday for the Northern California Home and Landscape Expo at Cal Expo. While much of the attention was on windows, roofing and garage doors, a portion of the sprawling show was focused on drought tolerant landscaping. Displays showed homeowners how to redesign yards with drought tolerant plants, concrete, and gravel.
Landscape designer Roberta Walker advised people not to just let their lawns die and turn brown.
"The alternative is to is to have a landscape that fits our region," she said.
The show runs through Sunday.
