A.M. Sacramento: Here’s what you need to know for Sunday
Good morning. Here’s what you need to know today:
Fog, then sun: Areas of fog before 10 a.m. today will envelope the Sacramento region before giving way to partly sunny, then sunny skies. A high temperature of 63 degrees is forecast, according to the National Weather Service. Patchy fog is expected after 10 p.m., with a low of around 44 degrees, the weather service reports.
A soldier’s story: Will Hoover grew up on welfare in south Sacramento, a kid with a strong sense of responsibility and a resilient way about him. On Aug. 5, 2014, he saved three lives in the so-called “insider attack” in Afghanistan that killed Maj. Gen. Harold Greene, the highest-ranking American war death in Afghanistan. Hoover almost died that day; he was badly wounded and may lose his leg. But he harbors no regrets. “I just did my job,” he said.

Room for pipe organ?: El Dorado leaders are trying to find a suitable home for a majestic 19th Century pipe organ that has sat forlornly in a warehouse at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds for more than five decades.
Serving up a new sport: Futsal, a five-per-side game similar to soccer but on a hard court, gains popularity in the Sacramento area as leagues form and public parks convert tennis courts into futsal spaces.

Golden State of play: Even before Klay Thompson smashed the NBA record for points in a quarter with his 37-point eruption Friday night against the Sacramento Kings, the Golden State Warriors were Mozart and Monet in sneakers and shorts, writes Bee columnist Ailene Voisin.
