Winning Powerball ticket worth $534,961 sold in Elk Grove
A winning ticket worth $534,961 from Saturday night’s Powerball drawing was purchased at a store in Elk Grove, according to California Lottery officials.
The identity of the winner is not yet known, but the ticket was bought at the Kwik Korner store at 8112 Sheldon Road.
The local buyer was one of two Californians purchasing winning tickets matching the numbers 19, 16, 20, 33, and 29, missing only the Powerball number 10. The other buyer, who also stands to get a $534,961 payday, purchased a winning ticket at a 7-Eleven store in San Diego.
Since no one matched all six numbers, the Powerball jackpot for Wednesday will climb to $261 million.
Powerball is a multistate game played in California and 43 other states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
