The Sprouts Farmers Market being constructed on Douglas Boulevard in Roseville will open June 15 with a host of freebies.
The 28,000-square-foot store at the Rocky Ridge Town Center, 2030 Douglas Blvd., is the second Sprouts store in the Placer County city.
About 100 full- and part-time employees will staff the new Roseville store. Crowds are expected for the 7 a.m. grand opening on Wednesday, June 15.
The first 200 shoppers in line will receive 20 percent off their initial total purchase, coffee and muffins will be served before doors open, every 15th shopper at checkout will get a coupon book, $1 deals will be throughout the store and free re-usable shopping bags will be passed out.
More offers are scheduled on the weekend. On Saturday, June 18, the first 200 customers to make a purchase will receive a coupon booklet for five free sandwiches and, on Sunday, June 19, upon checkout, every 15th customer will receive a $5 coupon on a purchase of more than $15 the following week.
The Rocky Ridge site was occupied by a Borders bookstore until 2012. A year later, Fresh Market took over the location as part of an expansion by the North Carolina-based company into this region. Fresh Market later added stores in Elk Grove and at the former Borders store on Fair Oaks Boulevard in Sacramento.
Fresh Market closed all three of those stores in March 2014.
Sprouts, founded in 2002, bills itself as a promoter of "healthy living for less." The company has been on a nationwide growth spurt.
Sprouts has stores in Elk Grove, Sacramento, Citrus Heights and on Stanford Ranch Road in Roseville.
