The Roseville City Council holds a budget workshop at 6 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 311 Vernon St.

Mosquitoes, malaria are topics of talk

Medical entomologist Greg Lanzaro, a professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, speaks on “Mendel, Mosquitoes and Malaria: Applying Modern Genetics to Control an Ancient Disease” at 5:30 p.m. in the G Street Wunderbar, 228 G St., Davis. Professor Jared Shaw of the UC Davis department of chemistry hosts the event.

  • Sacto Mofo and Sunrise Recreation and Park District host Food Truck Mania from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rusch Park, 7801 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights.
  • The Summer Concert series continues at the Palladio, 340 Palladio Parkway, Folsom. The group Total Recall performs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the free concert.
