Downtown Sacramento’s free Concert in the Park series continues from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Plaza, 910 I St. Friday’s scheduled performers are Authority Zero, Another Damn Disappointment, O’Mulligans, Little Tents and My Cousin Vinny. Go to godowntownsac.com for more information.
Coffee with cops events planned
The Sacramento Police Department hosts two Cops and Coffee gatherings, one from 6 to 7:30 a.m. at Peet’s Coffee, 1800 19th St., and another at 6 p.m. at Maestro Cafe, 2069 Arena Blvd., No. 130. Residents have a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and meet neighborhood officers.
Support group for caregivers
The city of Sacramento sponsors a free support group meeting for caregivers taking care of loved ones with dementia from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Cypress Room of the Hart Senior Center, 915 27th St., Sacramento. The meeting provides education and emotional support for caregivers. To attend, contact Chantell Albers, calbers@cityofsacramento.org or 916-808-6475. The meetings are held the second Friday of each month.
Pet truck for pooches in Old Sacramento
While food trucks often roll around town, a unique truck caters to pups, not people. Embarked on a nationwide tour, the Good Stuff Pet Truck will stop in Old Sacramento. From 4 to 7 p.m. it will be at Waterfront Park, 1110 Front St., between K and L streets just south of the Public Market Building. Four-legged visitors to the pet truck can get free treats and expert instruction from a dog trainer, said Robyn Caulfield, who is coordinating the tour. Cultural celebration at Capitol
Croatian American Day is celebrated from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the west steps of the state Capitol. Featured will be Croatian culture, food and music. Free admission.
