Memorial run/walk to celebrate Mercy Medical Group physician
A memorial run/walk to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Ed Redard, a Mercy Medical Group physician, will be held July 2 in Elk Grove.
Redard died at his home March 10 of a heart attack at age 55.
The 5K run/walk will be held at Mercy Medical Group’s Wymark Care Center, 8220 Wymark Drive, in Elk Grove, from 8:45 to 11 a.m. Registration is free and will begin at 8 a.m.
Redard was remembered by patients as a physician who often celebrated their health successes with a high five or a happy dance. He was described as a strong advocate of exercise, who was an avid runner but didn’t care for competitive events, preferring to run for fun.

Free T-shirts will be available while supplies last, and event participants are invited to partake of post-run/walk refreshments to celebrate Redard’s memory.
